Moutaouakil just passing through

Yassin Moutaouakil
Yassin Moutaouakil joined us on a sixth month loan from Charlton last month and his five appearances (4 x SPL, 1xCIS) have been well received by the Motherwell support. Jim Gannon's attacking philosophy suits his style and he has been doubling as a right winger for much of his time on the field.

His comments have raised a few eyebrows. Of course he is free to make a career choice at the end of his loan spell but it can hardly be a diplomatic move for him to declare that he fancies joining one of the Old Firm at the earliest opportunity. Can you imagine the comments if he has a stinker in our next game which happens to be at Parkhead?

If he wants to advertise his services then his best course of action would be to get his head down and get noticed for impressive form in claret and amber. His agent should be able to let other clubs know of his desire for a move. Advertising in the tabloids has to be bad form.

Lukas Jutkiewicz and John Ruddy are also with us on six month loan deals, both from Everton. Neither has expressed a desire to leave Fir Park, let's hope they don't follow Yassin's lead.

Our manager is still assessing his squad and the acquisition of some players on a temporary basis makes sense. He may find that some of the current squad are able to step up in January or he might be inclined to make a contract offer to one or more of the on-loan players.

Moutaouakil would do well to realise the value of having the fans on his side and that is unlikely to happen if his early comments about the club indicate his hurry to leave.
