Pre-season training has started and Terry Butcher is making positive noises about our chances this year. Obviously he can't say that he expects us to get slaughtered each week but if everyone has ambitions beyond the relegation struggle we might just reach mid-table.

The shop has been franchised out to Provan Sports and they are starting to make improvements. Eventually you'll be able to buy general sportswear from the store along with an extended range of 'Well merchandise. The shop has new hours just now (Tues, Thur, Fri 9am-5pm and Sat 9am-1pm) and these will be lengthened when the season starts.  Speaking to FPC, Alan Provan added

'we would very much appreciate any suggestions that you or any of
the web site contributors may have. We have a new range of training t-shirts already in store and a number of  other items already in production but this does not mean we have covered all the bases and the fans may have their own ideas as to what they would like to see in the shop. All suggestions will be considered and where possible we will follow this through to new product on the shelves'

Bryan Jackson is in the news again, this time saying that he hopes to announce the preferred bidder in two weeks. It is likely to be a local businessman who buys the club but the finished deal may still be some months away.

In other news, Eddie Forrest looks to be going to Berwick Rangers and Airdrie United will be in the Second Division having successfully killed off Clydebank.
