Next up - St Johnstone

Of course, while it is fun to enjoy our high placing while it lasts, it is more important to collect points for the future top six battle.  Further, maintaining the confidence which comes from winning games, in such a tight league, is also crucial.

When we were so comprehensively defeated by Rangers we managed to forget about it completely and beat Dunfermline the week after.  A repeat now would be brilliant but St Johnstone are not a team to be underestimated.  They have long had a reputation for being defensively sound and the addition of Sandaza to their attack has given them an extra scoring edge.

For our part our squad still seems relatively healthy but injuries are beginning to appear.  Saunders is already out for months and the news that Hutchinson will be joining him on the sidelines for some time is far from great.  Hateley, Clancy, Craigan and Hammell still seem a decent back four but we are just one more injury or suspension away from looking much weaker.

The rest of the team is probably easy to predict though new addition Daley will no doubt feature at some point, it would be a surprise if he comes into the starting eleven immediately.  Murphy, Law, Humphrey and Higdon will all be aware of the new signing and hopefully the extra competition will make them raise their game accordingly.

This is likely to be a difficult contest but at our best there is no reason we cannot come out on top with a 2-0 win.
