Next up - Celtic (again)

Last updated : 29 April 2010 By Firparkcorner

Our first visit in October resulted in a goalless draw under Jim Gannon’s leadership, Craig Brown took us there three weeks ago and despite Reynolds’ opening goal we lost 1-2.  Those results suggest we have nothing to fear this weekend.

Reynolds celebrates scoring on the last visit to Parkhead

Celtic’s season is already over.  They will finish in second place and the only target left is to earn their stand-in manager a contract.  Thoughts of the seaside and a few weeks away from the training pitch might be creeping into the home dressing room.  The stadium was less than half full when we visited in early April and it’s hard to believe that the ‘greatest fans in the world’ will create much of an atmosphere on this occasion.

Motherwell have still to make certain of a Europa League place and any point taken from the game will move us closer.  Whispers from Fir Park suggest that Ruddy may be able to resume his duties in goal.  Although we had a clean sheet at Tynecastle the reappearance of our regular keeper will be a reassuring sight for everyone in claret and amber.

The game is there for the taking yet the bookies have us as 8/1 outsiders.  We’ll be content with a 1-1 draw.
