Next up - cup tie with Aberdeen

Aberdeen may be well below us in the league and probably destined to finish in the bottom six but they are undefeated in 12 and haven’t lost since Christmas.  They now have the hallmarks of a Craig Brown side of being tough and hard to beat so even with several players injured they will not simply roll over for us.  Their injury situation is improving with Hughes one of a few who may return while Reynolds is a further Fir Park old boy making a return.

However, while tight at the back they are far from prolific going forward.  If we can keep Vernon quiet our chances of a clean sheet must be high as their main threat will be restricted to long shots or set pieces.

In contrast we have Ojamaa and Law in great form to supply the creative sparks while Humphrey is looking more and more dangerous from the bench. With Murphy, Daley and Higdon also there to contribute going forward we will surely hope to breach the visiting defence at least once.  Lasley will return from suspension to partner Jennings in the middle of the park but no other changes are expected.

This will be a hard fought game and to a certain extent the sides are likely to cancel each other out.  Hopefully if there is just one moment of magic it will come from us and Motherwell can move into the semi finals thanks to a 1-0 win.
