Next up - Partick Thistle (weather permitting!)

Further heavy rain will do nothing to improve the condition of the pitch and fans should ensure they are in touch in the event of an inspection.

While the Thistle squad were enjoying some unexpected free time Motherwell were working hard on the heavy pitch in Dundee.  Another game in the mud within a few days will test be a test of the players' fitness.

Firhill in the sunshine

Archibald's side have not won a league game in the last four attempts, two points from a possible twelve was their take.  They have scored fewer goals than anyone else but only the top three have conceded less.  There not many high scoring games when Thistle are involved.  Doolan has been the provider of most of their goals though has scored only 7 from 22 appearances.

Mark McGhee remarked after the Dundee game that the performance on their heavy pitch might go some way in preparation for the wetlands of Maryhill.  In the first half we showed some attacking flair while the second was an exercise in defending.

It would be a surprise if our starting selection changes from the fairly stable group that has been unfortunate with the poor rewards in the last couple of games.  On this occasion we may get the better of the opposition and come away with a 1-0 win.
