Next up - St Johnstone away

Mark McGhee may not be too disappointed that the midweek fixture was abandoned.  McDonald, Cadden and McManus were “struggling” in the manager’s words and with a busy schedule before the winter break recovery time is precious.  He'll have to watch this one from the stand as he completes his two match suspension.

Wow!

The return of Cadden to the starting line-up was the one encouraging aspect of Tuesday’s debacle and Motherwell will visit Perth better able to face the challenge offered by St Johnstone.  Moult and McDonald will be charged with breaching a defence that is looking for a third consecutive clean sheet.

Swanson is the Saints leading scorer but he missed their last outing due to a thigh strain.  They will be hoping he is able to return on Saturday.

The SFA have appointed Willie Collum to referee the match.  Prices are Adults £23, 65+ £13 and under 18 £12.

Our record at McDiarmid does nothing to inspire confidence.  After a 3-1 win in November 2012 we have lost six in a row so a homeward return with a point of better will be viewed as a success.  We might manager that after a 1-1 draw.

Remember our last visit to Perth?
