Next up - Stjarnan 2nd leg

One concern for the 'Well fans who make the trip will be access to the stadium.  The Samsung völlurinn has only 1,000 seats and the section allocated for the visiting support will not accommodate all those who make the trip.

Of greater concern will be the result.  Stjarnan remain unbeaten after twelve league games (their latest result was a 3-1 away win at the weekend) and despite falling two behind at Fir Park last week they were able to salvage a draw, albeit with the help of two penalties.  The hosts also have the advantage of familiarity with the artificial pitch.

All the talk from Fir Park has been positive as the players give their thoughts ahead of the game.  Craig Reid is quoted in the Evening Times saying, "Another week of building our fitness will help. We are more than capable of going over there and scoring a few goals. We have no fears.  We've been to hard places in the league and won, just look at Aberdeen on the last day of the season.  We're confident of winning the tie."

Motherwell have to score at least once in order to have a chance of facing JK Nõmme Kalju or Lech Poznañ in the next round.  Lasley and Ramsden will have to avoid bookings as they carry yellow cards into this game though that will be a secondary consideration on Thursday evening.

Our boys lack of match fitness was apparent as the first leg game entered the last quarter but another week of hard work and planning should give them a boost as they take to the plastic for the 8.15pm kick off.

It's likely to be a tense evening not only for those at the match but for 'Well fans who'll be following the game from home.  We'll be happy to settle for another Josh Law goal and a 1-0 win!
