Next up, the big one - Hibs

A Jamie Murphy goal was enough to beat Hibs when they were last at Fir Park in February.  That game was a poor spectacle and we have to hope for better this time around.  The crowd will be boosted by the generous £10/£1 gate prices.

Hibs are on a horrible run at the moment.  They have won only two of their last sixteen outings and they currently enjoy a six game losing streak. The defeat on Saturday after taking a lead against Hearts will do nothing for their confidence and neither will their suspension list;  Bamba misses out and McBride and McCormack return.

Unrest is rife at Easter Road.  On the one hand fans are calling for Hughes’ head as they see the season implode and on the other Colin Nish has suggested that 95% of the fans don’t  know what they are talking about (a retraction has since appeared on their official site).

Motherwell’s recent win at Tynecastle ended a run of four defeats and let us hop Hibs into the bargain.  The recall of Ruddy on Saturday will have given our squad a big boost and we can also be relieved that Jutkiewicz seems to be recovered from the niggle that interrupted his spell of good form.  Jennings will serve his one match suspension on Wednesday and we’ll miss him, but if either Coke or Lasley (or both) are available then some bite can be restored to the midfield.

This will be the biggest test that Craig Brown has faced since he was given the task of saving our season.  Regardless of the result we can be proud of what the players have achieved.  However, a 1-0 win will turn a good campaign a great one.
