Preview : Inverness (h)

There is good news in the sense that not only are Inverness poor - they're on a run almost as bad as ours - but we have a great record against them recently and can be heartened by a win over them earlier in the year.

Phil remembered

We were poor, very poor, against Hamilton but we still shouldn't have lost. As with most sides at the bottom of the table, we are combining bad play with bad luck and one break could be the change of fortune we need.

Of course, if things continue as they are there is nothing to suggest we will beat Inverness. We are sloppy at the back and don't take our chances up front - more often than not that will lead to defeat!

A lot might depend on our injury situation which presently does not look good. Clarkson and Craigan are reportedly going to miss out again while illness means Hughes, Murphy, Malcolm and McGarry are all doubts.

One goal in seven is a grim statistic and changing that will be key to turning things round. The first goal will hopefully lead to another and with a solid effort at the back we might receive a late Christmas present in the form of a 2-0 win.

Remember when Inverness last visited Fir Park?
