Preview: Falkirk (a)

We have scored thirty nine goals in the league campaign this season but none against John Hughes' side. A Latapy free kick through a slumbering defence beat in us on our earlier visit to Falkirk and they scored three at Fir Park just before Christmas.

Last time at Falkirk

Saturday's game will be the seventh for Motherwell in twenty two days and it looks as though we need a break. We haven't been at our best in recent outings and the manager has looked to the quality of the pitches, the weather and the lack of proper training as he tried to explain the dip in form. At the recent club AGM he suggested that we would have to be wary of a mid term mental tiredness creeping into the team. After this game we'll have a welcome ten day break.

The manager freshened up the team during the second half at Pittodrie by introducing three substitutes. Murphy, Fitzpatrick and Darren Smith will be hoping that they did enough to impress and it could be that they get another chance on Saturday though it's likely that they'll have to come from the bench again.

The latest addition to the squad is still likely to be short on fitness and will probably appear only if we have a comfortable lead late in the game.

Despite winning only one of their last seven SPL games Falkirk have held on to sixth place. They lost 0-2 to Hibs on Wednesday and Hughes wielded the axe by dropping Moutinho and Clarke. What will he do on Saturday?

Our guys will be aware that we haven't taken any points from Falkirk this season and that might give us the edge we need to win 2-0.
