Preview: Hamilton (a)

How seriously Hamilton are taken as rivals varies a lot across the Motherwell support but the only way any real feeling between the clubs will develop is if they hang around in the SPL. Certainly games against them are a fraction more interesting than playing Falkirk, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone et al so few in the away end will be disappointed if they manage to secure their top flight status against us.

That away end is likely to be almost empty. With many people having to keep a careful eye on their outgoings, £22 for a meaningless game is a lot to ask. It is particularly high when we know that we will scarcely put a tackle in for fear of being booked but the hosts should have a relatively decent home support behind them to contribute to the atmosphere.

On the pitch Accies are likely to be without Offiong but McArthur will be back in the side and he along with McCarthy can pose us problems. We will be without Reynolds who is suspended and that may resilt in Craigan returning to the middle of the defence if he is fit. If not, Quinn will probably move inside with Lasley or young Saunders playing right back but if the former option is used it could open a spot in the midfield for Klimpl - Europe may yet be further away than we hope!

After a disappointing game against Falkirk we have played not too badly in the last two games considering we were up against opponents with something to play for. With a bit of luck we may manage to avoid defeat here and go home with a 1-1 draw.
