Preview : Kilmarnock (a)

There is no doubt that anything less than three points here will be a major disappointment given the situation. Normally we would be happy for a draw at Rugby Park but with the door to the top six shutting so soon, we must look for the win.

Porter has an attempt

Unfortunately we have not won a league game on live television since Skippy Sunday - way back in 2005. Furthermore, Kilmarnock have provided tough opposition lately and despite struggling in the table the Ayrshire side have beaten us twice this term without conceding a goal.

They now find themselves in the relegation battle and comments in the media questioning the future of the club could spur them on. We will need to play well to win.

There is no reason to think we cannot though. The league table shows we are a better side regardless of the results between the teams so far and we have a full squad to choose from. It will be interesting to see if Quinn retains his place in midfield as last time, while Clarkson may feel he is due a recall after his winning goal. O'Brien has been playing well and should not be dropped but with Sutton scoring again last week, Sheridan may be the man to move to the bench.

This will be a physical game for us but we have improved that part of our play recently. We should still be confident of winning and with other teams around us having tough fixtures, a 2-1 win could really push us towards the Europa League spots.

Remember the last time we were at Rugby Park?
