Preview - Rangers (a)

The view from the corner
Most provincial sides have a poor record away to Rangers but there is no denying ours is especially dismal. It has been over ten years since we last won there and even draws come along pretty rarely.

On the bright side, we do have Klimpl back from suspension and it also seems as though Craigan will be fit to return from injury. Mark McGhee is sure to put a lot of thought into his tactical line-up but it would be a major surprise if this pair does not return.

Other options to consider are Sheridan and Fitzpatrick who were both left out last time and though Lasley may keep his spot it would probably be a shock if McGarry keeps his place. After this match we have St Mirren at home while Hibs travel to St Mirren and then host Rangers at home. A loss here could see us confirmed in the bottom six before the 33rd game but even a point would improve our position greatly.

Rangers are still chasing Celtic in the title race but along with suspending Ferguson and McGregor they have a string of injury problems. Thomson, Lafferty, Miller, McCulloch, Papac and Beasley are all out and Broadfoot is struggling. They will still name a side worth millions of pounds more than our club is worth though and it will take an impressive performance to take something.

We can but hope. A 1-1 draw will keep our season going for another week and will hopefully put a lot of pressure on Hibs before they travel to Paisley on Monday night.
