Preview : St Mirren (a)

St Mirren are four points ahead of us in the table and they have just completed a four game winning streak. Lest that should cause us any concern, it should be noted that it was preceded by seven matches that produced only one point. Jim Hamilton, he of many former clubs, has been a regular of late and our defence will have to be careful to limit his opportunities.

Smith clears up at Love Street.

Our win against
Inverness lifted us from the bottom feeders but we have some way to go to mount a proper challenge for a top six berth. That the win coincided with the return of Clarkson and Craigan was surely no accident. Klimpl's holding midfield role received much praise and there will be no surprise if the same eleven take to the field to face the buddies. There will be at least one change on the bench with the departure of Neilsen back to Blackburn. Will we see Meldrum back in harness?

The ground will be packed and our travelling support will have to work hard to give the team plenty of vocal encouragement. Plenty of entertainment will be on hand to mark the occasion, a pre-match pipe band and half time five-a sides will be followed at full time by a parade of past and present players, a balloon release, more pipes then fireworks. There is a possibility that a cup replay might have to be scheduled at
Love Street and so the Paisley club have asked that fans do not dismantle the stadium at the end of the game!

Motherwell fans will be happy to take three points as a last souvenir of
Love Street ; 2-1 to the Mighty Well.

Remember our last visit to Paisley?
