Little and Large celebrate
Any ‘Well fans who are unhappy at our lack of success this season should have a smile when they glance up the road to Tannadice. Eddie Thompson has thrown more money at the side and yet again they failed to deliver.

Craig Brewster may eventually get it right and he has started getting rid of the deadwood already. The result is that the United team could be close to unrecognisable to the sides we have played already this season.

Brewster's early track record is not good – only one win from about a dozen games – but given they were clearly safe and going nowhere, it is hard to take a true feeling of his standing from playing kids and reserves against clubs still battling for vital points. This makes it hard to form any sort of prediction for the game – are our bunch of untried kids likely to be better or worse than their tried in five games kids? We'll soon find out.

A better team than Livi might have taken some of their chances on Wednesday but we did well to play with commitment and we looked lively in front of their goal too. McGarry played a game full of energy and Clarkson's efforts are to be applauded. The handful of youngsters making early appearances probably did enough to retain their places for Saturday although Butcher may decide that further juggling is the order of the day.

The prices for this game are – quite rightly given it's a friendly – reduced to a ‘mere' £8 for adults and only £2 for kids. Hopefully this will attract a slightly bigger crowd than usual to give the team a good send off into their holidays. There's also the added knowledge that this could be Terry's last game as ‘Well boss should he accept an offer to move to Australia

It's like tossing a coin to predict the winner here….2-1 ‘Well.

Remember the last time United visited?
