The Fir Park team have gained praise from all corners for the attacking and entertaining style they have served up this season. There is a frustration that a lack of killer touch in front of goal and a series of defensive lapses have not delivered the points that the play might have deserved. Mark McGhee's post match conferences are littered with comments bemoaning the inability to turn attacking play into real goal scoring opportunities and he must be scared to watch anytime a corner kick is conceded.

This way!

For all that Motherwell are well worthy of the current sixth place spot in the table and the fans are more that happy at the show laid on by the team. The first team will have to do without Steven Hughes (hamstring) but the squad could see a promotion for young Jamie Murphy. His hat trick in this week's SFA Youth Cup impressed Chris McCart and Scott Leitch and there are big hopes that he will be able to make the step up to first team action.

Craig Brewster has a few decisions to make. Will be play Niculae or Bain in partnership with Wyness up front? Hart has returned to training after his drug offence and a choice seems likely between Proctor and Cowie in midfield. Watt and McGuire have also resumed training after injuries.

Games between these two teams are normally tight affairs and, as ever, the first goal will be hugely important. Given Motherwell's attacking flair they seem the more likely to break the deadlock and if they can find a rare clean sheet then a 1-0 win is on the cards.
