Preview: Raith Rovers (h)

Raith are currently second in their league with three wins from four. However while their form is good it must be remembered they are in the Second Division. Their glory days of winning the League Cup and being in the Premier League are long gone. They will provide stuffy resistance and any lack of concentration on our part will probably be punished but we should be feeling confident.

It will be interesting to see how Mark McGhee treats this game. So far we have used very few players as the winning team has hardly been changed. However the likes of McLean and Corrigan haven't featured yet while Simon Mensing has only been on the pitch for twenty minutes or so. We need to treat our opponents with respect but bringing in some of the squad, while resting others, may be beneficial in the long term.

There is also the issue of the attack which definitely looks promising even if it has to be tweaked a little. Clarkson in the middle definitely doesn't seem to be the answer and while Porter may not have been fantastic he does add something to the middle of the attack for the others to play off. Three out of the four will play so one will be disappointed. Whether this is viewed as an indication of things to come or if it is just an experiment for one night won't be clear until later in the season.

We rarely dispose of lower league opposition without a struggle. Last season we were given a very nervous time by Partick Thistle when they came back from two goals down. We will hope for a smoother ride this time and should hopefully get it with a 2-0 success.
