SPL on the Wrong Track

Since it was announced that a relaxation of the drink rule would be trialled at Murrayfield, those in charge of the SPL couldn't wait to cry "me too". The chance of making a few quid at the proposed outlets pushed is something they could not resist. They hope that the government can be persuaded to set aside the ban (introduced in 1980) in time to allow a trial before the end of the forthcoming season.

A couple of bottles of plonk for half time?

There is nothing to suggest that fans are clamouring for alcohol to be made available at SPL matches. Supporters would be much more impressed with Ian Blair if he was to talk about a proposed investigation into the introduction of Safe Standing areas in our grounds.

With any luck the time will come when fans are given a meaningful role in the running of the game but there seems to be no sign of it at the moment.
