The win not only stopped a four game losing streak but it also raised the spirits ahead of the upcoming game against Nancy. It gave a platform for Jamie Murphy to show off some of his talents and it proved that we have someone other than Clarkson or Sutton who can score!. Lasley, captain's armband and all, put in a hard shift at right back while McGarry showed that his recent absences have done nothing to dampen his enthusiasm.

Sutton is mobbed

It would be easy to criticise the team for their showing, especially in the first half, but we have to take into account the loss of Craigan, Porter and Hughes. Our squad does not have the depth to cover for such a loss without notice.

Our next SPL game sees Falkirk at Fir Park on Sunday and a win against the Bairns will put us right back in the mid-table mix. Before then we have the pleasing diversion of a Uefa Cup tie. A big crowd under the floodlights live TV and European opposition will provide a wonderful diversion from the league and we should make certain that it becomes a night to remember.

Come on ye Well
