Tannadice on Sunday

The Tannadice faithful have seen their team beaten on each of the last four occasions they had the pleasure of watching Stuart McCall’s men and they'll be hoping for an improvement this time..  The turnover in personnel in McNamara’s squad has been even greater than at Fir Park and we'll take some comfort at the departure of Daly to the lower leagues.  His scoring record against us helped boost his standing in the goal scoring table.

Daly's replacement, Goodwillie, has yet to reach the heights that were obvious in his first spell at Tannadice and he started on the bench at the weekend.  The switch worked and United cruised to a 4-2 win in Dingwall.  Turkish striker Ciftci found the net for the first time in the SPLF and he was aided in no small measure by 17 year old Gauld who delivered an impressive performance.

Lasley tries his luck

Motherwell's defence should return to its familiar line up with the return of Ramsden at right back.  We coped admirably last week with Hammell switching wings and recorded the third clean sheet of the campaign - a feat that earned praise from Start McCall who noted that we achieved only six games without loss last season.  Francis-Angol took the left back slot against St Mirren and his contribution up the field set up the winning goal for Sutton.  The manager may elect to keep him in reserve.

Both teams have the wind in their sails at the moment; we have three successive wins and United have scored a dozen in their last four (including three against Dumbarton).    The game is likely to see action swing from one end to the other and the entertainment value for fans at the ground and the TV audience should be high.  Both teams could walk away content with a 2-2 draw.
