The FirParkCorner Prediction League is Open

Last updated : 30 July 2007 By Firparkcorner

This popular pastime has been a feature of the site for the last ten years and each new season sees more players joining in. Anyone registered on the messageboard can play.

All that is needed is the prediction of the score in each competitive match that Motherwell play in throughout the season. Points are gained for predicting the winning team, for the correct number of goal scored and for naming the scorers.

The thread for the first game of the season is already open and can be seen here. All you have to do to join is to add your forecast to the rest.

The league is administered by Tweed. While the rest of us are able to celebrate the latest win on a Saturday night, Tweed is hard at work processing the week's predictions and compiling the new table. It is then uploaded and the thread for the next game is opened.

Previous leagues as well as the page for 2007/8 can be found here and there is also a link from the site main page.  The rules for the this season are on this page.

There are a few prizes to be won but the essence of the competition is pretty much a battle of head over heart. There are some who cannot bear to predict anything but a 'Well win. Others take a more realistic approach and ruthlessly suggest that we are about to bet thrashed.

To the regulars- welcome back and to the newcomers - have fun!
