The manager's thoughts after Breidablik

“A bigger cushion would have been nice”, is a sentiment that every one of the six thousand ‘Well fans who saw the goalless first half would echo.  Sutton, Murphy and Forbes spurned opportunities as tempting crosses went begging.

However, the manager is confident that we’ll score in Iceland and that our opponents will be vulnerable when they attack, as the must.  He is also confident that our match sharpness will improve now that the players have a competitive game under their belts.

The team will report for a warm down session on Friday and they will train of Saturday in preparation for next week’s trip to Iceland.  Brown made it clear that the team would be well prepared for the second leg and gave the fans a guarantee that a 100% effort would be invested in getting us into the next round.

The draw for the 3rd qualifying round takes place on Friday.  Some big names enter the tournament at this stage but we still have work to do before we can plan the next European adventure.
