Two homes and three aways for Motherwell

Sat May 9 St Mirren Away

Wed May 13 Inverness Home

Sat May 16 Hamilton Away

Sat May 23 Kilmarnock Home (1230)

The two games at Fir Park and the three away trips will give us an even split of 19 home and away over the course of the season. The coffers are hardly likely to swell much when the receipts for the home games roll in. A Wednesday evening with a busload from the north will be hard pressed to reach 2,000. The last game of the season is a lunchtime bash with Killie.

The pitch is due to be turned into a building site in the close season as a new base and undersoil heating is installed. It is understood that the new surface will be grown from seed rather than by laying turf. In that case the club might have preferred the last few games to be away from home to enable an early start to the construction of the new pitch.

The team have no fixture next weekend as the Cup semi-finals take centre stage. Let's hope that they can come back refreshed after the break and that we can finish off the season in style.
