'Well fans in Odense

Trains, cars and planes brought Motherwell supporters to Denmark ahead of the qualifying tie for the Europa League group stage.  The Danish town has a large pedestrian area at its centre and that was the obvious focus for the travelling claret and amber tourists to explore.

The wet weather caught many ill prepared and those who assumed that a sunny welcome would be waiting were cursing the lack of waterproofs!  It did not take long for suitable watering holes to be identified and, after all, there was plenty Odense Pilsner to be sampled.

The town is ablaze with colour as the match coincides with Odense Flower Festival.  This year it has an oriental theme and lanterns and pagodas fill the streets with their colourful displays.  Entertainment is laid on in outside the town hall though most of the day spectators watch from the shelter of their umbrellas.

Many fans found their way to Ryan’s Bar, an Irish pub with a great atmosphere and very reasonable prices.  The  Electric Bar’s flag looked at home draped outside the pub.
