Motherwell have moved early in the current window to plug the gap left by the return of Gunnar Neilsen to Blackburn Rovers. Graeme Smith now has backup from Artur Krysiak who joins on loan till the end of the season from Brimingham City.

The keeper has represented Poland at U19 level and he's familiar with the Scottish set up as he made a few appearances for Gretna last season.

The official site confirmed the news today and also revealed that we have a couple of trialists under the microscope. Byron Webster is described as a 6ft 5in stopper who played last season for a Czech club. The 21 year old Englishman can also play in midfield.

Simon Elliott is a 34 year old midfielder who has fifty caps for New Zealand. He was released by Fulham in May after missing almost the whole of 2006/7 because of an injury. The current transfer window remains open until February 2.


Maros Klimpl has had his loan spell extended until the end of the season. He joined us in July but we have only begun to see what he can offer in the last few weeks as he spent much of the autumn injured.
