'Well Not Clear Yet

There is no doubt that both Dunfermline deserve some credit for their battling performances in the last few weeks. Kenny's Manager of the Month award for April was earned on the back of a one hundred percent SPL run of three wins (and a two legged cup semi victory over Hibs). Meanwhile the fortunes at St Mirren seem to have taken a turn for the better and they now have two wins from the last three outings.

A point from any of our three remaining games or a slip from either of the chasers is all that's needed to prevent our tumbling to the bottom. Brian Kerr's interview in the Scotland on Sunday makes it clear that that he and McDonald are as aware as the rest of the squad that finishing bottom is still a possibility but he also points out (after having a go at the club's seeming lack of ambition) that three wins could see us end the table in seventh place.

Meanwhile, Maurice Malpas has let it be known that he is concentrating on moving up the table. In this week's Wishaw Press he said, "We obviously want to get finished as quickly as possible by getting the point we need but I'm still looking to finish seventh or eighth. I'm looking to win the last three games and I certainly don't want to go into the last match of the season having to get something out of it, but of the three bottom teams, everyone would rather be in our shoes."

We need to get a decent support over the Forth Bridge on Monday evening to give the team backing. Prices are cut and the home side are on a run. They will have a big holiday crowd in place and it would be nice to see plenty of claret and amber in the away stand.
