Scott Burns’ piece claims that captain Craigan and Keith Lasley have accepted two year deals and they will join Stevie Hammell in next season’s squad.  Their current contracts end in May but the new deals will keep them at Fir Park until 2012.

Craig Brown has made it clear that he hopes to re-engage most of the current squad and the Express suggests that Steven Saunders has a one year extension.  Hopes are high that Jennings can be tied up with a two year contract.

Scott adds that the club are hopeful of retaining Coke, Hateley and O’Brien.

There will be some relief that the core of the first team is now secure for the future and they’ll be hoping for a European start in July.  Sadly, there are no similar good news stories to report concerning John Ruddy or Lukas Jutkiewicz.  No doubt Craig Brown will be pestering his pal at Everton in the hope of retaining their services a while longer.

Meanwhile the team prepares for Sunday’s match against United.  The visitors played out a scoreless draw with Rangers last night and the straight red issued to Kovacevic will mean that he misses the Fir Park game.
