Next up - St Mirren

Motherwell travel to St Mirren Park on Wednesday with high hopes of stretching the winning streak to a fifth league triumph.  Stephen Robinson has discovered a successful eleven, can they go again?

There are times when a manager agonises over team selection but this must be an occasion when only a training ground injury will force a tweak to the Motherwell side that has earned praise in the last few weeks.

Motherwell fans on our last visit

Indeed, Robinson’s main concern may be to fight any hint of complacency from sneaking into the ‘Well changing room.  Our young guns have been on the receiving end of much attention lately but they need to keep their feet on the ground if their progress is to be managed.

The transfer window saw only modest change at Fir Park but it was a different tale in Paisley.  Oran Kearney engineered a bewildering turnaround with around a dozen departures and as many new faces joining the club.  No doubt introductions are still taking place!

St Mirren are two points adrift at the bottom of the table and they suffered a sixth straight league loss at Ibrox on Saturday.  Their last three points came when they sneaked a late goal at Fir Park in December.

Both previous meetings have gone in favour of the away team and Stephen Robinson’s boys will look to extend the trend on Wednesday.  If we stick to the task and maintain concentration then we should return home happy with a 2-0 win.
